For thirty years I have driven this coast — the French Riviera from Menton to Saint-Tropez, and across the border into the Italian Riviera: Sanremo, Bordighera, the Ligurian coast down to Portofino. Not from a map. From knowing it: the village where lunch is worth the detour, the viewpoint at the hour the light is right, the quiet way through when the Corniche is jammed, the crossing into Italy where the whole world changes in twenty minutes.

Why a Private Driver — Not a Taxi or an App

Ride-hailing apps are not permitted to operate in Monaco, and taxi availability across the Riviera becomes unpredictable in high season and during major events — the Grand Prix, the Film Festival, the Yacht Show. A private driver, booked in advance, means your car is there — at an agreed price — no matter the demand that day.

But the real difference isn't availability. It's who is driving. An app sends you whoever is nearest. I bring thirty years, five languages, and a coast I know by heart. Yes. I drive both sides of the border regularly — Sanremo, Bordighera, the Ligurian coast — and a single day combining France and Italy is one of my favourite itineraries to arrange.

What languages do you speak?

English, French, Italian, Spanish and Romanian — so you travel in your own language, on both sides of the border.

How much does a day cost?

Rates are fixed and all-inclusive, by vehicle class: Mercedes E-Class from €360 for 4 hours, €700 for 8 hours, €1,500 for 24 hours; V-Class and S-Class higher. Ultra-luxury vehicles are available on request. No meter, no surge — the price is agreed before you book.

Do you serve Monaco, given ride-hailing apps are banned there?

Yes, throughout the Principality of Monaco. A pre-booked private driver is the dependable alternative, since Uber and similar apps are not permitted to operate within Monaco.

How far in advance should I book for the Grand Prix or the Festival?

Two to four weeks is wise for major events such as the Monaco Grand Prix, Cannes Film Festival or Monaco Yacht Show, when availability across the whole coast tightens at once.
